The Bag that Started it All....

So it's been almost a year ago that I signed up to sell mark. I thought to get this blog going I would spend some time reflecting on where I've come in that last (almost) year.

Let me take you back...to July 2010..July 7th specifically...I was online looking for some new make-up bags because the ones I had were getting really gross. And I don't know why, but I typed in 'meetmark' into the search engine. I didn't know too much about the brand other than Lauren Conrad was the spokesperson at the time, and I had ordered a couple of products in the past that I liked. This is what I saw...

OMG, cute right! So of course I ordered it (along with a few other things so that I could get the free shipping). As I was browsing around the site I started reading more about the company and their message of empowering young women to make their mark on the world, and I was really impressed. So then I looked to see what was involved to be a mark. rep and again, I was impressed. You get a starter kit with all kinds of cool products FOR YOU to use (unlike most other direct selling companies that you give you a crap load of stuff to be used on other people) and...... (wait for it.....wait for it...) it was only $20!!!

Seriously, why would I not want all this super cute stuff??? And um I should also mention a 30% discount on all my future orders as a rep. Um, duh, yes sign me up please!! I went back and forth for awhile thinking I was too old to be selling this brand but then I decided who cares, I want that kit and I want the discount.

Now here we are a year (almost) later and what has that $20 done for me?? Well it has brought extra spending money in for me to buy dinner out, extra doggie treats, stuff for the house, etc. And...OMG a FREE trip to New York (what??? crazy!)

mark. had a contest for reps and if we sold $2,000 in two months we won a spot at the National Sales Meeting in NYC. All expenses paid (food, air fare, hotel and they picked us up at the airport! it was so legit, I had to spend nothing out of pocket in advance, they seriously hooked us up!). It's been a crazy year, and I look forward to more with this amazing, growing company!

Okay so I have been so inspired by all of the other blogs I've been reading lately; I decided to start my own :-)

I will be focusing mostly on my mark. business, but I will sprinkle in some real-life, school, fashion and beauty goodness too!
